triggering actions through date rules

Hi,

I got an issue with actions. 

I need to create a start condiiton for an action. A mail has to trigger to customer, after 10 days from the date of creation of document.

I have created two date rules as :  today's date and  today+10days.

I have assigned my start condition as &todaysdate& =  &todays+10days&.

Is this the right start condition? because the mail is not triggering to the cusotmer.
